Privacy Policy

At Kobercrypto, we value the privacy of our users and are committed to protecting their personal information. This privacy policy outlines the type of information we collect, how it is used, and how we ensure its security.

Information Collection

When visitors leave comments on our site, we collect the information displayed in the comment form, including their IP address and browser user agent string to assist in spam detection. We also use an anonymized string created from the visitor’s email address (known as a hash) to check if they are using the Gravatar service. The Gravatar service’s privacy policy can be found at https://automattic.com/privacy/. Once a comment has been approved, the visitor’s profile picture may be publicly displayed in the context of the comment.

Media

When uploading images to our website, we advise against including any embedded location data (EXIF GPS) as visitors to the site can download and extract this information from the images.

Cookies

When leaving a comment on our site, visitors may choose to save their name, email address, and website in cookies. These cookies will last for one year and are a convenience to avoid having to enter this information again when leaving another comment.

We use temporary cookies when visiting the login page to determine if the visitor’s browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when the browser is closed.

When logging in, we will set several cookies to save the visitor’s login information and screen display choices. Login cookies last for two days, and screen options cookies last for one year. If the visitor selects “Remember Me”, their login will persist for two weeks. Logging out of the account will remove the login cookies.

An additional cookie is saved in the visitor’s browser when editing or publishing an article. This cookie contains no personal data and simply indicates the post ID of the edited article. It expires after one day.

Embedded Content

Our site may include embedded content from other websites, such as videos, images, articles, etc. This embedded content behaves as if the visitor has visited the other website and these websites may collect data, use cookies, and monitor the visitor’s interaction with the embedded content, including tracking their interaction if they have an account and are logged in to that website.

Data Sharing

In the event of a password reset request, the visitor’s IP address will be included in the reset email.

Data Retention

Comments and their metadata are retained indefinitely to allow for automatic recognition and approval of follow-up comments, avoiding the need for moderation.

For registered users on our website, we store the personal information they provide in their user profile. Users can view, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also view and edit this information.

Data Rights

Users with an account on our site or who have left comments have the right to request an exported file of the personal data we hold about them, including any data they have provided. They can also request that we erase any personal data we hold. However, this does not include data that we are required to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.

Data Transmission

Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service.

We take the protection of your personal information seriously and will make every effort to ensure its security. By using our website, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this privacy policy and agree to its terms.
